Pewabic Pottery

 

Description

Pewabic Pottery, established in Detroit in 1903, has produced nationally renowned ceramics pieces which can be found in various memorials, monuments, and churches across the United States.  The founder of Pewabic, Mary Chase Perry Stratton, has been inducted as a member of the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame because of her work.  Today Pewabic Pottery is multifaceted with active and growing education, exhibition, museum and design and fabrication programs. It also has historic exhibits which tell the story of Pewabic's role in the history of Detroit, the growth of the Arts & Crafts movement in America and the development of ceramic art.
