This was the final result of hours of scraping and painting on our first garage project, with our first mission group this summer . They made the thirteen hour drive to Detroit from Nebraska to make a difference in the lives of some of those in need here in Detroit. With a serving heart they scraped through the rain, and although I would have rather quit, they were an encouragement to me to keep going. I was sufficiently blessed by the way they worked and the kind of camaraderie they showed me. Then, when it was all over, we left the once peeling garage looking renewed with a new paint job. Yet the work we did was secluded behind the house, so it will be seen by only a few people and God. Knowing the humility of the work done and the serving heart they showed, I was grateful that God gave us such a good start to the summer. And our friends from Nebraska really did help set a great pace for us the rest of the summer.
